Fort Turner was established in 2003.
After a disabling back injury in 2001 and 1-1/2 years in rehab, I was left with a major life changing decision.
My main hobby was black powder Rendezvous, attending since 1987. I wasn't impressed with the tomahawks or throwing knives available from the traders. Most were imported junk. I decided with my thirty-five plus years experience in machine shop and foundry work, that my goal would be to produce the finest American made tomahawks and throwing knives. So I started forging one competition throwing tomahawk and knife, then headed off to the Fort Bridger Wyoming Rendezvous.
With the overwhelming acceptance of my products and the orders that started flowing in, Fort Turner was up and running. I then introduced the leatherwork to compliment the metal work. Now with additional styles I'm providing high quality products all over the world to competition throwers, rendezvous enthusiasts, re-enactors, backpackers, hunters, martial artists and our military professionals.
